Erubey Romero Medina and Daniel Jimenez Millian Death News: Winston-Salem Park Shooting Leaves Two Teens Dead, Five Others Injured After Fight Turns Violent

A violent mass shooting at Leinbach Park on Monday morning has left two teenagers dead and several others injured, in an incident police say escalated from a planned fight into a deadly exchange of gunfire.

 

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 9:52 a.m. Monday after receiving reports of a fight in progress. While units were en route, additional calls reported that shots had been fired and multiple people had been struck.

Investigators said preliminary findings indicate the violence stemmed from a pre-arranged confrontation involving juveniles. When the groups met at the park, the situation quickly escalated, resulting in multiple individuals exchanging gunfire in a public area.

Upon arrival, officers observed individuals fleeing in different directions. In the parking lot of Leinbach Park, officers located a 17-year-old male, identified as Erubey Romero Medina, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim, identified as 16-year-old Daniel Jimenez Millian, was found further inside the park with a gunshot wound. Despite emergency response efforts, he was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Additional victims were located nearby in the parking lot of 3474 Robinhood Road, where several individuals were found with gunshot wounds ranging from critical to minor injuries. Those injured include:

One 14-year-old female
One 15-year-old female
One 17-year-old female
One 18-year-old male
One 19-year-old female

Officials said a total of seven people were struck by gunfire during the incident. Some of those injured may have also been involved in the exchange of gunfire, and detectives are actively working to determine each person’s role.

The identities of juvenile victims are not being released in accordance with North Carolina law, and the names of adult victims are being withheld as the investigation continues.

The Winston-Salem Police Department described the investigation as active and ongoing, emphasizing that detectives are still gathering evidence, reviewing witness statements, and working to reconstruct the timeline of events.

Authorities are urging the public not to share unverified information as the investigation develops and instead rely on official updates.
